OD’S DEBUT ALBUM ‘MEAT AND CANDY’ GOES GOLD
OD’s debut album Meat and Candy is now certified GOLD by the RIAA. The news comes almost a year after the release of Meat and Candy (November 6, 2015).
“When we made Meat and Candy, we had no way of knowing if it would go over well or not. We just tried to make a record that would excite us and that we were proud of,” says OD’s Matthew Ramsey. “Hearing that it is now certified Gold really shows us that it is resonating with people in much bigger ways than we could have ever expected. We are extremely proud and grateful.”
The critically praised album was produced by GRAMMY Award-winning songwriter and producer, Shane McAnally, and features the two-week No. 1, PLATINUM-certified “Break Up With Him,” the GOLD-certified hit “Snapback,” and the current radio single “Song For Another Time” which currently sits at No. 2 on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase Country charts.
Throughout 2016 since Meat and Candy was released, OD was named the ACM New Vocal Group/Duo of the Year, ACC Breakthrough Group/Duo of the Year, AIMP Artist-Writer of the Year, Music Row Breakthrough Artist of the Year in addition to being nominated for TWO 2016 CMA Awards; Best New Artist and Vocal Group of the Year.
2016 also found Old Dominion rejoining Kenny Chesney on the Spread The Love Tour, with Miranda Lambert and Sam Hunt, as well as kicking off their own headlining Meat and Candy Tour which has continued to sell out venues from coast-to-coast.
The Meat and Candy Fall leg has 10 more dates left before it concludes with stops including San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, Denver and Kansas City.
